CHAPTER XXI: RACE TO THE
TEMPLE

Meanwhile, Boman Braggs received the news through the Global Alert System coming from Jeranu. With great speed he accelerated his Titan Class Vulkan towards the Sacred Temple intent on protecting Kali and the Twelve.

But Kali wasn’t there- she was locked down by the fifty Amber Commandos in the Royal Estate on the High Hills. But that wouldn’t hold her back. Her Halo-chron revealed the darkness spreading and she foresaw the Sacred Temple burning in flames. She MUST reach the Temple and prevent the Sith from destroying the Holy Journal and the Sacred Holochron which had recorded the epic battle between darkness and light for hundreds of generations.

Kali was prepared for this fight. She had foreseen the Sith on Elysia months ago but could not determine the time of the vision and did not reveal it to anyone. Instead, she took from the Sacred Temple the ancient Sula battle dress of the Whills’ first prophetess and battle maiden Isarah. Secretly, she had it modified by the monks of Algoria in the secluded Great North.

With even greater secrecy  she shipped them Admantium metal and asked them to fashion a helmet, protective breastplate, wrist guards, and military rider boots from this material. The original pure pleated lanium-Gold Sula fiber was to be interlaced with new bio-engineered spider silk from the deadly white Spartan Terachnid. Its silk was twelve times stronger than cellular steel and would not burn at all. The monks specialized in custom woven garments but this time technodroids were to assist them mate the materials for a precision Holy “Suit of Lights” which was to be blessed upon completion with holy water taken from the Sacred River, Aden.

Kali would later add her own customized Royal State Industries defense weapons to the suit which had just arrived a few days earlier in a protective Admantium case that Kali had just retrieved. She opened the hardened case and tossed in her custom light saber. She would need THAT the most. Now if only she could escape the prison fortress of the estate…

Opening up her window twenty feet above the ground, Kali whistled for Dark Beauty. The hursa was roaming free on the High Hills estate and Kali could sense she was nearby, feeding off the lush green hydro grass.

The hursa heard the whistle and instinctively stopped grazing and galloped towards the estate under Kali’s window. Kali dropped the case which landed softly in a dense flower bed and then directed the hursa to come and turn around under the window. Dark Beauty looked up at Kali but did not respond to her gestures.

So Kali took off her Halo-chron, and reached out to the hursa in deep thought. Dark Beauty could sense danger, but then the hursa’s mind went blank and instinctively she turned around and backed up towards the outer wall below the window. Kali took a chance and jumped from the window ledge, landing hard on the hursa’s back. Dark Beauty was startled and rose up on her hind legs, but Kali stroked her side and calmed her down. After a brief dismount to get the case, she re-mounted and moved to the newly constructed royal stable to recover the hursa’s impulse controls and a load carrier. After that, she sped away in great haste for the city.
