CHAPTER XVII: THE PROMISE OF LOVE

After the Stadium Battle and Kali’s miraculous recovery Boman Braggs had changed his life. No longer was he a JunKar outcast but a galactic hero- even back on his home world where the JunKar Central Authority had pardoned his crimes and offered him a position of great power in the Tech Industries. But Boman still looked down on his laser-grafted criminal arm brand and felt that his place belonged by Kali’s side-forever. His destiny was here on Elysia and only here could he make her happy. He no longer went by his nickname but restored his honor by becoming Boman again.

Queen Serapha offered Boman any position in the State, with great power, luxury, and riches. But Boman volunteered to become a soldier in the Queen’s Red or Gold Army. The Queen accepted on condition that he be trained as a new Amber Commando and that since he held great skill riding a hursa that he be trained on the most powerful Mechquus model available- the Titan Class “Vulkan”. Boman smiled and agreed, but secretly he preferred his real hursa Dark Beauty which he and Kali rode together often. The Whills marveled over the hursa but detested its name. Some suggested it be genetically altered and re-named “White Beauty” but the Twelve decided that “Dark” only referred to the hursa’s color, not its heart.

Boman loved Kali and she loved him. It was obvious to all, but the Queen was uncomfortable with Boman calling her Kali instead of Lady Kaliah. The Queen explained that she wasn’t a little girl anymore and that she was royalty but Boman reminded Queen Serapha that she still had an innocent heart and would always be “his girl“. The Queen relented, but allowed ONLY Boman to call her Kali- by Royal Decree.

Kali and Boman were to have a Royal Wedding in the fall, in the Crystalline Cathedral in Jeranu. Right now , Kali was with the Twelve and living in the Queen’s Royal Estate on the High Hills while Boman was in training as an Amber Commando at Camp Vondenberg near the Crystal Lake. Against regulations, Kali had come to visit him during training many times. But Bo’ had to make each visit short.

It was at Vonderberg that Kali helped him construct his own light saber from pure amber crystals from the clear-water Crystal Lake. It was a fine weapon, a pure shaft of light that radiated more than just photon energy- it was the new symbol of justice “shining” in a dark galaxy now largely over-run by the warrior Sith.

Kali even had his saber coated in gloss white Admantium hyper-plating, just as strong as obsidian armor, but more resilient to direct strikes. Bo' thanked her and kissed her as they embraced, but he should not be with her during training. He was due back to complete his riding lessons which Kali thought was hilarious since she rode in on Dark Beauty (which viewed the shiny military Mechquin with some curiosity).

Bo' was deep in thought. I will come to you my love when my training is complete and we will marry in the fall. You are my one and only love- my soul mate, and my entire being cries out for you day and night.

Kali could read Boman’s thoughts and in a soft voice telepathically whispered in his mind, You are in my heart forever. I love you and yes, we will marry in the fall. Together we will enjoy love eternal. I am yours forever. With that, Kali smiled and rode off into the sunset back to the Royal Estate upon the High Hills.

But something else was planned for the fall back on Tirahnna- the destruction of the Whills and their Holy Book. No life was to be spared. The Sith had a nasty surprise for the Whills that was being built with great haste in a secret shipyard in a separate sector of space under complete secrecy. The greatest weapon in the galaxy, the Maxator-Class Slayer was being constructed under the personal supervision of one of the Nine Dark Lords. Unlike the other Sith Destroyers, this 10,000 foot behemoth was unmanned and served only one purpose- the destruction of a world… Elysia.

First, the Siths would invade with a Fleet and Army, kill as many Whills as they could, then desecrate their Holy Sanctuary by burning their Journal of Hope in fire as they killed the Royals and Seers. Syrenia would personally kill Lady Kaliah and Boman Braggs, then the Sith would evacuate a safe distance away while the Slayer destroyed their world. That would be the end of the Whills and their pathway to light.

Darkness would reign forever.
